Just i tide kom endda et intervju i hus, denne gang med årets deltakere fra Sveits. Takasa vandt den nasjonale finale under navnet Frelse arméenn, men fik det senere hen endret som følge af regelsættet for Eurovisjonen.

 

1: Hvordan kom I på ideen, om at deltage i den nationale finale Schweiz?
Låten var lave tut fra en ekstern idé om at Frelse Arméen kunne deltake i Eurovisjonens Gran Prix. Frelse Arméen gjorde et musikalsk projekt med støtte fra HitMill for adskillige år siden, så allerede dengang var der oprettet en forbindelse mellem os. HitMill har kvalifikasjonerne til å lave fantastiske låter. Der var nogle inspirerende samtaler med låtens ophavsmann, Georg Schlunegger, hvilket resulterede i en fælles ide om hvad sangen skulle formidle, og HitMill kreérede denne iørefaldende låt.

 

2: Blev sangen skrevet specielt til formålet?
Ja.

 

3: Mange kender Frelsens Hær fra at stå og spille hyggelige julesange på gågader op til jul, men er der en musik-verden inde hos jer ellers? Jeg mener – en verden med «rock-ballader» som «You and me» og des lige?
Frelse Arméen har en lang tradisjon indenfor music, og den er benyttet på mange forskjellige steder. Takasa er altid glade for å fremføre musik, uanset om det er på gaten eller i kirken, og like så komfortable i et fengsel som i en parlamentsbygning. Takasa’s reise vil nu tage denne tradsijon med til Eurovisjonens Grand Prix 2013 i Malmö.

 

4: Hvad håber I at årets deltagelse ved Eurovisionen bringer med sig for gruppen?
Faktisk er det en slags livslang erfaring. Vi håper at seerne og bandet kommer til å nyte fremførelsen og låten. Vi tror at der er en fremtid for Takasa, men vi vet ikke précis hvordan den kommer til å se ut. Men der er et album vei.

 

5: Et lidt mere klassisk spørgsmål – hvilket schweizisk og hvilket europæisk bidrag ville I fremhæve, blandt dem som gennem tiden har deltaget?
Vi er en gruppe med forskjellige baggrunde, vi kan ikke komme med en generel mening, det vil blive 6 forskjellige svar.

 

6: Kan I beskrive sangen med jeres egne ord?
Det er meningen at låten skal sprede positive følelser, og derfor passer den rigtigt godt til Eurovisjonens Grand Prix. Konkurransen skal skabe forbindelse mellem kulturer og mennesker gjennom music, og det synes vi sjelv at vi gjør godt. Vi tror på at støttende forhold kan holde i lengden, og vil skabe et sundt samfund. Det handler om: respect, tillid og kærlighed.

 

7: Skal I blive de første på flere år som bringer Schweiz i finalen?
Sveits er kjendt for deres 0 poeng. Men vi tror at vi har gjort vores bedste og vandt den sveitsiske finale indtil videre. Hvem kunne gjøre det bedre i år? Vi ser frem til det og håper at folk vil stemme på os.

 

8: Lys Assia gjorde det. Celine Dion gjorde det – kommer I også til å vinne hele konkurransen i Sverige? Og hvis det skulle lykkedes – hvordan vil I udnytte 1. plassen etter konkurransen?
Vi sikter ikke efter 1. Plassen. Men vi er villige til å dele vores glede og værdier om å leve sammen I en utfordrende verden. Hvis dette bringer os til 1. plassen vil vi være stolte, og vil vite at det kun kan ske grundet dig og mig – svs. Folk som har en fælles visjon.

 

9: Var I overraskede over at EBU valgte at bede jer om, at få ændret navnet på jeres gruppe, efter at I vandt den nationale finale?
Ja, vi var bestemt ikke forberedt på det. Vores ansøkning matchede de sveitsiske regler for konkurransen, og i vores øyne matchede de så også EBU’s regelsæt. Men regler skal altid fortolkes og vi forstod godt EBU’s argumenter for den ønskede endringen.

 

10: Hvad betyder musikken for jer?
Musik er en pasjon for os alle. Vi elsker at spille musik.

 

11: Hvis I skulle nævne inspirationer for jer – hvem kan I så nævne?
Vi inspirerer hinanden og har en felles platform. Vores tro på gud. I vores daglig dags utfordrigner, spørger vi tit os sjelv, hvad ville Jesus gjøre? (WWJD)

 

12: Er der noget som I har lyst til at sige til læserne?
En bedre verden begynder med hver enkelt person, og viljen til å bygge et langt varigt forhold. Det er vores budskabet i låten, og vi håper at det vil lyde på tværs av Europa. Hjelp os med at få det gjort.

Right in time we got an interview with the swiss Takasa. They where taking the victory in the national final under the name «Heilsarmee», but due to the EBU regulations, they had to change the name before the Eurovision.

 

1: How did you get the idea to participate in the Swiss selection for the Eurovision Song Contest?

The song was born out of an idea from the outside that the Salvation Army could participate in the Eurovision Song Contest. The Salvation Army did a musical project with the assistance of HitMill several years ago. The link therefore was done back at that time back. HitMill has the qualification to do amazing songs. Inspirational discussions with the songwriter, Georg Schlunegger, and us created a common idea of what the song actually should transmit and then HitMill created this catchy song.

 

2: Were «You and me» written especially for the Swiss selection?

Yes

 

3: A lot of people knows the Heilsarmee for standing at the streets playing christmas carols in December – but are there a different «music world» inside the organization «Heilsarmee? ( I mean: a world with rock ballads, etc…?)

The Salvation Army has a long tradition in music and is used to different kinds of venues. The Band are as happy playing their music on the street as they are in church, as comfortable in a prison as they are in the Federal Parliament Building. Takasa’s journey will now take them this tradition to the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö.

 

4: What do you hope that the Eurovision participate will bring the group, when the days in Sweden are past?

Actually it is kind of a lifetime experience. We hope that the audience and the band enjoyed the performance and the song. We think of a future for Takasa but do not know exactly how it will look like. An album is on its way.

 

5: A more classic question – which Swiss and which European song would you choose as «something» special?

We are a group of people with different backgrounds, we can’t speak in general. The answers would be six different answers.

 

6: Can you describe the song with your own words?

The song intends to spread positive emotions and feelings and therefore fits very well into the Eurovision Song Contest context. The contest intends to connect cultures and people by music and that’s what we do and believe as well. We believe that only supportive relationships can last in the long run and finally create a healthy community. It’s about respect, trust and love.

 

7: Are you going to be the first Swiss contestants in years that will bring Switzerland to the final?

Switzerland is well known for its Zero points 🙂 But we think that we have done our best and won Swiss national selection by far. Who could do it better this year? We look forward and hope on people voting for us.

 

8: Lys Assia did it. Celine Dion did it – are you guys also taking Switzerland to the 1th place in Sweden? And how will you use the 1th place after the contest?

We do not aim the 1st place. But we are willing to share our joy and values about living together in a challenging world. If this brings us to the 1st place we will be very proud and will know that this could only happen because of you and me – i.e. people having a common vision.

 

9: Were you surprised when EBU asked for a change of the name from «Heilsarmee», after you were winning the Swiss final?

Yes. We were absolutely not prepared. Our application matched the Swiss regulations and in our eyes would also match the EBU regulations. But rules have always to interpreted and we understand the arguments of EBU and accept them.

 

10: What does the music mean to you?

Music is a passion for all of us. We love playing it.

 

11: What or who is inspiring you?

We inspire each other and we have common ground. Our belief in God. In our daily life challenges we often ask ourselves, what would Jesus do (WWJD).

2: Are there anything you guys want the viewers to know? – something you want to say

A better world begins with every individual person and the will to build long lasting relationships. That’s the message of our song and we hope it will pass across Europe. Please help us to do so.

Switzerland is in this evenings semifinal – are they for the first time in years, going to qualify to the final this year?
