Årets belgiske representant tok en liten pause fra sine travle forberedelser til Eurovision Song Contest i Stockholm for å ta en prat med escNorge.
Her fremfører Laura «Dum Tek Tek» under årets første livesending i Eurosong
Hi Laura!
Soon you’ll be on your way to Stockholm. What does it mean for you to represent Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest?
It’s a big honour of course! I’m very happy that I get this chance.
And how does it feel knowing that you will perform your song in front of more than 100 million viewers across the world?
Very exciting! I am preparing for Stockholm right now: taking more singing lessons, making the choreography… so that everything will be perfect in Sweden.
Will there be any changes in your performance from what we saw in the Eurosong final?
There won’t be many changes in the song. But the act will be different: of course the stage in Stockholm is bigger than in our Belgian preselections, so the act can be bigger too. I can already tell you that there will be lots of dancing!
Your song has a Motown-funk feel to it. What does this genre mean to you?
I love up-tempo pop music with a bit of funk and soul. I really like music that makes you happy, and I myself like to sing songs that make people feel good.
My favourite artists are Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, Beyoncé and Stevie Wonder.

Will you be touring or promoting your song before you go to Eurovision?
I want to focus 100% on Stockholm and on bringing a good performance there, so I won’t be touring before that.
Have you listened to any songs from the other countries yet? What do you think of them?
I have listened to a few, but not many: I still want to be surprised by the songs in Stockholm, and see them together with the act on stage.
And last but not least; What is your all-time favorite Belgian song from the Eurovision Song Contest?
Last year’s performance by Loïc Nottet was amazing, I think. I really loved it.
Vi takker Laura for at hun tok seg tid til å prate med oss og ønsker henne lykke til I Stockholm!
