Georgia får arrangere Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017 i november.
Landet vant fjorårets konkurranse. I Junior Eurovision er det ikke bestemt at vinnerlandet får arrangere konkurransen året etter, men i år ble den georgiske kringkasteren GPB gitt denne muligheten av EBU, melder junioreurovision.tv. Med nytt stemmesystem sikret Mariam Mamadashvili Georgias tredje seier i konkurransen. Dette blir første gang Georgia arrangerer en Eurovision-konkurranse, til tross for to tidligere seiere i Junior Eurovision.

The EBU are delighted to announce that GPB will be the host broadcaster of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017. As Georgia has won the JESC the most times we are pleased that we can finally bring Europe’s favourite youth show to a new country that has shown such dedication to the Contest. Last year’s competition showed that JESC is an invaluable platform for public service broadcasters to support their young talent, and we have full confidence that GPB will host another great show this November.
Ikke bare har Georgia flest seiere i Junior Eurovision, men fikk i fjor også 239 poeng, noe som er ny poengrekord. Hvor i Georgia konkurransen vil finne sted vil bli offentliggjort av EBU på et senere tidspunkt.
Hittil har seks land meldt seg på konkurransen: Georgia, Hviterussland, Kypros, Irland, Nederland og Russland.
